How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open the app, go to Settings, and tap "Restore Purchases." Your Explorer Pass or Pro subscription will be restored automatically through your Apple ID.
Why am I not receiving proximity alerts?
Make sure Location is set to "Always" in Settings > NearPast > Location. Background alerts require "Always" permission. Also check that Notifications are enabled.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. All archaeological site records are stored on your device. The map tiles require an internet connection, but proximity alerts and site details work fully offline.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > NearPast to modify or cancel.
Does the app drain my battery?
NearPast uses efficient location monitoring. Significant location changes use minimal battery (under 0.5% per hour). Driving mode uses more power but only runs while the app detects you're in motion.
The app says I'm outside Israel. What do I do?
NearPast Israel's database covers the State of Israel and surrounding archaeological regions. If you're near the borders, some alerts may not trigger until you're within the coverage area. You can still explore the map from anywhere.
