Atika: Italy Guides
Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Atika ("the app") is a heritage-discovery app for travelers in Italy. We collect the minimum data necessary to run the app and never sell or share your personal information.
What we collect
- Approximate location (when you tap the location button). Used only on-device to center the map. Never stored on our servers unless you explicitly sign in and mark a visit.
- Sign-in identity (only if you choose to sign in with Apple). We store: a Supabase user ID, your chosen display name, and an opaque Apple-issued token. We do not receive your email if you choose Apple's "Hide my email" option.
- Your activity (only if signed in): sites you wishlisted, sites you marked "I Was Here", and field notes you choose to publish. Stored in our Supabase backend.
- Analytics events are not collected in v1.0.
What we don't collect
- Continuous background location.
- Contacts, photos, microphone, camera (the app doesn't request these permissions).
- Device advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Cross-app tracking data.
Third-party services
- Supabase (database + auth + storage). EU-hosted. Supabase Privacy.
- Apple Sign In when you choose it.
- Apple Maps when you tap a location.
- Google Maps only if you tap "Open in Google Maps" — we do not send any data to Google unless you tap that button.
Heritage site data
Site information (names, locations, photos, descriptions) is sourced from the Italian Ministry of Culture's national catalog (ArCo / ICCD / SIGECweb), licensed CC-BY 4.0.
Your rights
If you're signed in: open Settings → Delete Account in the app. This permanently removes your visits, photos, field notes, and sign-in record from our database within 30 days.
Children
Atika is intended for users 4 and older but does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
